Porn DVD's rental services or "DVD-by-mail"
DVD-by-Mail programs are better
known, such as Netflix (which does not carry adult titles). Your
subscription fees are based on the number of DVDs you are allowed to
have out at any given time as well as the number you may check out
in a month.
Once your account is opened you browse the listing of
available movies and add ones you want to your queue. After you
return a DVD the next title in your queue is automatically mailed to
you. Some services allow you to create sub-queues for other people
to use with your account.
The most popular packages for
almost every provider allow you to have three DVDs out at a time but
unlimited DVDs in a month, although there are usually many other
options. DVDs are mailed to you in a nondescript envelope with the
title concealed and you are frequently billed by an innocuous
company name. You view the DVD at your leisure in a standard DVD
player, and when you are finished you mail it back in an envelope
provided with the disc.
Many providers are taking a hybrid
approach and allowing customers to choose either or both methods.
Wanted List is a prime example, allowing you to pay-per-minute for
streaming movies or have DVDs mailed.
